A digital marketing agency has launched a graduate academy to help three young recruits each year gain industry experience in the sector.

Leicester-based Digital Ethos has launched the paid graduate scheme this year, giving the three new starters a chance to gain industry experience and guidance across PPC, paid social, technical SEO, content, digital PR, organic social, and business and strategy.

The scheme is open to graduates from De Montfort University and surrounding universities in the East Midlands who come from a creative or marketing background. Joining the scheme are Kimran Gill, Bushra Siyam and Arjun Rajeev.

Jessica Harvey, head of the graduate academy, said: “Helping aspiring marketers to gain industry experience has always been important to me, particularly within our local area.

“Getting your foot in the door of a digital marketing agency can be challenging, so we wanted to provide a formal scheme to provide guidance and training to graduates.

“We are delighted to launch this year's training programme to help young professionals in our industry.”

Graduates who successfully complete the programme will be offered a chance to join the agency permanently.

Jess said: “This training programme is an insightful opportunity for the graduates to learn about each of the services.

“Rather than offering an internship where we give out our own work, we are taking the time out of our schedules to deliver personalised training on each department.”

The agency has also strengthened its content, PPC, customer relationship management (CRM) and technical SEO offerings this year with six new appointments – launching its CRM offering with the introduction of Tamaryn Abrahams, based in South Africa.

Tamaryn has 10 years’ experience working both in agency and in-house marketing teams. In her new role she will be combining creativity, analytics and consumer data to develop targeted marketing campaigns, enhance customer engagement, and optimize the overall customer experience.

She said: “I joined Digital Ethos because I wanted to be part of a growing and ambitious company. With my role, I have the opportunity to take the CRM offering to the next level and have a genuine impact on the quality of the delivery of the exciting projects we work on.”

Digital Ethos chief executive Luke Tobin said: “We are thrilled to see the agency continue to grow quickly, as we develop our training programme and delivery teams.

“When I started the agency, I had a vision of fostering the next generation of talent and that is what this graduate academy is all about.

“These graduates will bring in fresh perspectives and innovative ideas, acting as a breath of fresh air for us.

“We have built a team of experts who are at the top of their game here, and we are excited to give back and be mentors to the graduates we have welcomed to Digital Ethos.”
