Byron Bedford, chief executive of ProEconomy, who will be based at the Exeter office, said: “We treat the water and provide infection control services for five of the 10 largest NHS trusts and have the Royal Warrant for water treatment services for the King. We also work across the UK, Europe, Asia and the Middle East within the hotel, university, and medical sectors.”

ProEconomy has taken the lease on the office, which is in the Science Park Centre, having previously used the co-working space in the centre.

Mr Bedford added: “‘We are building out our Research and Development team and we needed a wet lab to prototype some of our latest R&D initiatives. Exeter Science Park is a great place to do this from.

“As the CEO of the company, I have worked at Exeter Science Park for a number of years, after moving here with my family from London. It’s been a great home for me and I’m excited to build out our R&D team and create more innovative products that make a positive impact upon infection prevention.”

Jason Buck, senior business development manager at Exeter Science Park, said: “We are delighted to provide a high-quality office space for ProEconomy to conduct research and development. Here at Exeter Science Park, we have developed a pathway for our businesses, from those using the co-working space, to our incubator offices in the Science Park Centre, and then to those who need more lab or office space in our other buildings.

“ProEconomy will be a welcome addition to our community, with many like-minded science and technology businesses based here.”
