Life sciences marketing agency ramarketing has moved into Canada with the opening of its latest international office.

The Newcastle-founded firm, which secured the backing of private equity investors NorthEdge last year, already runs a North American operation in Boston and says this latest move is part of plans to strength its US and Canada presence in the pharmaceutical and biotech sectors. It is hoped the downtown offices on Toronto's Yonge Street will help the firm attract "top tier" talent.

Emma Banks, CEO at ramarketing, said: "Our expansion into Toronto marks a pivotal milestone for ramarketing, solidifying our commitment to global expansion. The thriving life science ecosystem and proximity to a growing pharma manufacturing hub present abundant opportunities for collaboration and exponential growth. The Toronto office will offer numerous advantages for US clients; the move supports the company's well-established East Coast team members in Boston, New Jersey, the Research Triangle Park (RTP) in North Carolina and Pennsylvania.

"Adding a new location will enhance the agency’s international outlook and attract top-tier talent from diverse backgrounds to seamlessly cater to the thriving North American market. With our highly adaptable, and specialist team, we are confident that the move will be a success. We look forward to building solid relationships in the region, both in the local community and with Canadian and North American clients."

Ramarketing says the new location was chosen for Toronto's status as a global life sciences hub employing some 14,000 in the sector with a number of multinational operators located there along with the University of Toronto.

The firm worked with inward investment agency Toronto Global to set up the office. Stephen Lund, CEO of Toronto Global, said: "My team and I had the privilege of partnering with the ramarketing team to facilitate this strategic venture into the Toronto region. It has been a pleasure to provide our team of experienced business advisors to assist with the expansion. I am excited to welcome ramarketing to Toronto."

Last year ramarketing signalled that it would open a new European base, having eyed up Germany, Switzerland and Ireland as potential locations. It now boasts offices in Manchester and the US, where founder Raman Sehgal now lives, alongside its Newcastle headquarters, and has previously hinted at a possible move into Asia.
