A Devon-based metal roofing and cladding supplier is expanding to a new manufacturing facility and offices at Uffclume over Christmas.

The Cullompton-based business said the new development will facilitate business growth and support customer service objectives. The 41 strong team is set to move to the new two buildings totalling 40,000 sq ft of manufacturing space at Hitchcocks Business Park. The existing offices will remain open until December 22 and the new production facility and offices will open on January 8, 2024.

United Roofing Products manufactures, stocks or sources roofing and cladding systems and allied products for the agricultural and industrial building sectors.

Charlie Somerton, commercial director said: “The new unit will bring huge benefits to the business. It will enable us to improve our customers service, improve efficiency and invest in additional machinery. The move will be a paradigm shift that will facilitate growth.”

Ben Dominy, United Roofing Products’ managing director added: “We will undertake the bulk of the move, in particular the production facility, over the Christmas break, traditionally a time of closure, to limit the impact on service levels. We are working closely with customers and suppliers to ensure that we can continue to service their requirements over this period, however there will be some disruption to manufacturing between the 18th of December and the 8th of January. The office will remain open up to the Christmas shutdown.”

The new premises will allow the business to develop its commercial offer by increasing its range of stocked products to include insulation, insulated panels, underground drainage, modular roofing systems and a broader range of fixings and rainwater goods.

A founding member of the Rural & Industrial Design & Building Association, United Roofing Products was established in 2001 and has seen consistent year on year growth.
